Authenticity. Vulnerability. Honesty. Sincerity. Openneds. Receptivity. Without these. true shared strength, which requires deep snd certain trust, is not possible.

Personas are shatterable masks. Persons have a lot more to them.

Neighbors are those who are metciful (read the parsble of the Good Samaritan). Not everyone is. Showing mercy to the merciless is counter-productive. Just as appeasing Hitler did not work.

Strength is the sbility to both carry a cross and the ability to flip ia cross upside down and use it as a vampire stake, according to what the situation calls for.

Sometimes it takes much more strength to withhold strength, or temper the use of it, than to use all one's strength. 

Consider the story of Abraham's near-sacrifice of his son, Isaac. The angel that intervenes to prevent catastrophe is Abraham's "inner Sarah", his wife and Isaac's mom.
